A Cherished Life

12 x 12 Oil on gessobord

This is another one brought over from my old blog. I really enjoyed painting this mysteriously interesting sculpture. She is in a local cemetery, a reminder of the Victorian era when memorials were meant to be great works of art, rendered by talented artisans, many from Europe. This was a snow covered winter day, and when I got home and downloaded the digital pictures, I could see her eyes are blue, and her lips are red. Very intriguing, but left me with a lot of questions.......

Perfectly Terrible Maine Wave

Absolutely terrible, but how often can you say "OUTSIDE" while watching waves from the road in Portland?

Homers

One of the more sketchy reef breaks around.

Speedblur

Looks like an actual barrel.   Too bad humans aren't 24 inches tall like a lot of stuffed animals that most of played with as children but are too macho now to admit that we actually still have the animals in a box up in the attic that we visit when no one is around.   Go ahead, admit it to yourself.   I won't make fun of you.  Actually when I find out your name I will post it here and then ask someone else to make fun of you then I will type what they say so it will be on them.   Man they are just really not very appropriate.

Sunset

Because it is always flat, you definitely have to look at the other perks to living on the coast.

Higgins Beach

3.3ft out of the east at 12 seconds, NW winds

Groundswell is an amazing thing that occurs far too infrequently in these parts.

Doc Brown's

3.3ft out of the east at 12 seconds, NW winds

One of the only times Doc's has made me do a double take and wish I was actually surfing it.
